MORE GRASSROOTS PATTERNED PAPER. This layout was a team efoort with my buddy, Cynthia. We used Rebecca Sower's Book, Scrapbookinging Life's Little Moments to inspire this layout.
Of course the handprint in the layout is Cynthia's daughter, Nia.
We struggled over this layout during two separate scrapbooking sessions. Like most scrapbookers Cynthia struggled with using both photos together. But I felt they were complimentary because the purpose (pardon the pun) was to tie in the Kwanzaa definition with her name. So the Christmas photo has her name on the Santa hat while the other photo exemplifies how Nia's life gave the babysitter purpose. Linking all of this to the African proverb was just gravy.
Now what would have made it easier to work with these two photos, would have been to convert them to Black & White images...but they were not digital prints and who really has time for all that. My philosophy...put the pictures on the page.
My favorite element...the paint, I just love paint!
I have been searching for scrap book blogs and yours is fantastic. I love what you are doing.
