This year I learned something new about St. Patrick. I'd never really researched this holiday before until last month when I decided to write an article about it for Scraps of Color . I learned that my heritage has alot in common with Irish St. Patrick (he too was a slave and had a strong foundation of faith). What tickled me about the holiday this year was how the public schools held parties, parades and celebrations today in honor of St. Patrick's Day. When you get down to it he was an evangelist and spent his life sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ...yet folks are always trying to take the Church out of school. So there, that's my Ethnic Scrapbooking lesson for today...if you look hard enough you can find some familiarity in every ethnic tradition or ritual.
The boys in their green!
Thanks for the info, lesson well learned...Your boys look wonderful.
