My daughter participates in DI (Destination Imagination) where the teams are given a topic, they have to come up with a skit, practice it and present it in a competition. Well, when I went to the rehersal 48 hours before the event, they had a lot of smoothing out to do. Saturday they perform and low and behold they won FIRST PLACE, and now travel onto STATE. I have never been so happy for my daughter and her friends. They really buckled down and showed us parents that they really could do it, because believe me 48 hours before we were'nt as positive. TO top it off, the 3rd grade team that went with them also placed, third, but hey they placed and did terrific too.
I'd like to give you the specifics of their skit, but I'm afraid to since they are still in the state-wide competition. I'll just say that this team building experience has definitley taught my daughter the value of being a team player.
Congrats to your daughter Lisa! I have heard of this competition because a school from where I live went to compete.

Yeah, we won regionals.But, we were 8th in state and didn't go on. oh well.There's always next year.
