Before I tell you about my jaunt to Long Island, New York, check out this article about a new cafe here in Maryland, DC area called Artmosphere. Two weeks ago my sister had her going away party there and it was fabulous...love the ARtistic atMOSPHERE there...and the food and coffee are YUMMMMM.
Okay, last week I took a very quick jaunt to New York. One of my Grandmother's sibilings passed away (the first) and two car loads of the sisters & brothers along with us nieces & nephews travelled together. Let me tell you their were about 10 members over the age of 65...so the four hour trip took over seven hours.
Here are my Grandmother's siblings (one is missing, he was away in the military)
My kids were happy to take one last trip before school starts on Monday (yippee). The highlight of the trip for me was to see the impact of a family scrapbook. The relatives in New York had never seen the photos of their mother/grandmother and I think it started them on their way to move through the grieving process. Aunt Stella (third from the right) had an infectious laugh...it lives on in her daughters and granddaughters. This may be the end of one mother/daughter relationship, but I hope it's the begining to a more enhanced relatioship between the daughter/granddaughters with their Great Aunts and Uncles...because they truly are GREAT.

It's so cool when family gets together and even better that they got to experience the impact that scrapbooking can make on a family.

As always you have taken great photos, but you always forget to put yourself infront of the camera, so you are included in the history.

So sorry for your loss, but it is so nice to see the family enjoying your scrapbook.
