There are some times when a person makes a huge impact on your life and you don't get a chance to thank them. Well after almost 15 years, I got to thank someone who encouraged me to carry an uncomfortable message back to the executives at my place of employment and low and behold it made a big impact on the company and me.
I want to publicly thank Johnnie Booker for her encouragement for me to be the messenger to Arthur Andersen to become more proactive about their Supplier Diversity program (called MWOB program back then). Those marching orders set me on a pace that continues in my career today. Just as my Great Great Grandmother had a huge impact on my life, so has Ms. Booker.
Take a moment to think about the people who have made an impact on your and give them a call to say thank you, better yet create a scrapbook page in their honor.
