Yes, it's true we have a pet...not one but two! Not counting the racoon, the black snake, rabbits and frogs in our front bushes. Okay the kids have been begging for years for a dog (no lie) so I gave in and said if they stopped bickering and kept the house clean for a week, we'd get a dog...they kept up their end of the bargain, but finding the specific dog that we want...a Portugese Water Dog has not been so easy. So when our neighbors found out I promised a dog, they got their daughter a hamster and I had a light bulb moment...that's a great idea we can get two. So off the pet store the very next day. We got two teddy bear hamsters, one named and Rocky and this guy here.
Meet Teddy, the kids have gotten very creative about playing with him. Here it's the Stuart Little hour...the boys race him around the halls in their various cars and trucks and he actually stays put. My husband came home one night shocked to find the boys playing with them this way. I figured, what's the harm as long as they are gentle with them and if the hamster gets out, they move slow enough that I can catch them with a bowl and scoop them up.
We've got a bunch of memories about them already so I guess I'll be doing my very first pet album!
Funny, just remember it's a pet and not mistake it for anything other!!
