Yes, I am an enabler, why because it's at these events where you can find the most ethnic products in one spot...everyone has not yet read my book so they see those multi-cultural products and think they can't use them, when in reality they can.

Update on Sierra

A few of you have asked how our 7 month old Portuguese Water Dog is doing after quite an ordeal after being spayed.  She ingested something metal which did pass, thank goodness and she seems to be doing well after the Vet unkinked a portion of her intestines.  We are still on a raw food diet, but now a store bought brand by Nature's Variety.  After many a spent ducketts, she's all good now, very well behaved and big...she's 38lbs already...50 lbs is full grown.

She still gets car sick, we are open to any remedy suggestions.  Here she is:

Blogger reviews Ethnic Scrapbooking

I'm not an "emotional" person, but this review of my book brought me to tears.  Blogger "Jen" really understood my book.  I might have been a tad bit emotional about her words and overly excited about the projects she created because lately I haven't had the support of my book from my local scrapbook community and I was feeling like I had made a big mistake.

Jen and the other reviewers over at Scrap Friends reversed all of that doubt.  They reminded me that my desire was to touch not only the readers heart and mind, but their spirit.  Ignite the fire within to look at their life as a whole, to see that scrapbooking is not just about paper and glue, it's about focus, perspective and life.  God sent this validation to me just when I needed it, he's been guiding me through every step of this book and I've grown spiritually by leaps and bounds because of this project.  Folks keep hinting around about book #2 and as Eckhart Tolle would say, I'm just trying to experience the now, live in the present.

Eggstra Special Day

What an awesome weekend and day. I hope your Easter was filled with low key preparation and lots of understanding the importance of this Holy day.

We invited some friends, Mia and the Angulo family to share in our easter egg dyeing tradition...we used up some scrapbooking supplies too.

We experienced a powerful dance by the Cornerstone Assembly of God, Bowie, MD Dance Ministry.

SWAN Day Event - March 29

On Saturday March 29, 2008, from 1 pm until 6 pm Art with Joe will observe Support Women Artists Now Day (SWAN Day) and offers several free creativity workshops for women and an open mike poetry/spoken word event celebrating women with the art of words. 

This event will be held at Peace and A Cup of Joe, 713 West Pratt Street, Baltimore, Maryland.

1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Decorating Women's Personal Spaces, facilitated by Sherry B. Ways of Design Scheme Interiors, LLC

As part of Support Women Artists Now (SWAN) Day, DSI will lecture on personal retreats for women. What makes a woman's space special? Every woman needs a bit of personal space for her own peace of mind. Discover how others have created their personal space in their homes and how you too can create a space that you can call your very own.

2:00 - 3:00 p.m. Cultural Scrapbook Techniques, facilitated by Lisa Sanford, author of Ethnic Scrapbooking.

Join Lisa Sanford as she offers specific ways to include examples of culture and ethnicity on a scrapbook page. Memory keepers of all skill levels will be able to add new cultural perspective to their projects with ideas presented by Lisa.

3:00 - 5:00 p.m. Creating Your Personal Vision, facilitated by Jennifer Judelsohn of Neshama Soulworks Studio and Sharon Burton of Authentic Art Consulting

Jennifer and Sharon will show you how to use visualization by creating a Vision Board, also known as a DreamBoard. A Vision Board is a collage of pictures of the goals and dreams you want to attract in your life. Learn how this powerful tool can create the life you dream of and have fun making one of your own!

5:00 p.m. Open Mike/Spoken Word (No Registration Required: Open to the Public)
