Met this family at the Kensington, MD Book Fair.  A Jewish family that adopted a beautiful girl from India, I'll call R.  She was the first visitor to the booth and came back later in the day to make another paper bag album.

happy bEARTHday to my sister Candace.  Every item on this page has special significance (that's the pervasive theme through out my book Ethnic Scrapbooking).  My sister is a global trekker, see the little rubber stamped image in the top right corner?  That's of the Great Wall of China...a future destination stop for her, that's why I included it.

She just came back from Tunisia a couple of weeks ago and her next adventure...Scotland in June.

Being Present

Our lives are so busy and can quickly spin out of control.  Last week I was really busy with work but thank God for my Joseph.  He was playing right outside the back door and whispered into the house, "Mommy get the camera, I see the yellow bird again".  I managed to get up to the neighbors fence and get a few shots for him...he was so proud that he didn't scare of the bird.  I was so proud that I didn't just blow him off and showed up in the present and enjoyed the moment.

So that I nurture Joseph's curiosity for nature I bought him a birdfeeder so he can pay even more attention to the wildlife in our yard.

Thank you Joseph for bringing some balance to my life that day.

Family Support

Well here's part of the crew wearing the Leah shirts I made for her meet last week.  They were quite a hit.

I think Joseph summed it up...or should I say thumbed it up.

It's official!

I'm  bonfided soccer mom.  Last weekend was the first time I watched my child in a real soccer game.  He's very good...but that's coming from his mom....soooo....

I can't wait to create a scrapbook page about how this activity can connect you to so many other cultures who love futbol too.

Customizing T-shirts

On our way to a gymnastics meet.  I made all of us t-shirts with Leah on the front (and a few tote bags too) to show our support.  She's super nervous at meets and I just want to help boost her confidence.

Had to make a customized shirt for baby Joseph too...he was feeling left out with everyone else's Spring sports.  So you can see I got my craft on last night!
