I can't believe it has been 15 years since the bombing in Oklahoma. This year I have a different appreciation for the video that will be run on the news tonight, as I was able to visit the site this past November. See THIS POST.
What really struck me about the visit was the small area in which the bombing took place and how it changed the landscape afterward. Hearing the stories of where people were in the city and the impact it had was chilling. My heart goes out to the victims families and to the city and to the nation for having to re-live the horror...the results of one man's actions.
Connecting...I probably wouldn't have lingered on the news stories this morning had I not made "the connection" with Oklahoma City by visiting the city and taking the time to hear the stories. This really is the basis of my book, Ethnic Scrapbooking...it's all about connecting and awareness.
