About a week ago I shared via e-mail and a post on Facebook the following link to a news article about my recent family reunion activities. I knew at one photograph accompanied the article, that of our slave ancestor, because I saw it on-line. What I didn't know is that our family photo and half of the article took up 2/3 of the front page of the Lifestyle section!! Thank cousin Barbara for sending me the original newspaper article. For all the headaches that come from planning reunions, seethis article made it all worth it.
For the past 11 years I've been involved in family reunion planning and I have wanted to continually educate my own family (all 1,800 descendants) of our rich heritage and be an inspiration to other families to get out there, talk to their family members, take photographs plan fieldtrips, learn our your family's story is woven into our American history. Preserve those stories of old, pass on the story telling traditions...learn to love one another.
Here's the portion I could scan on my table top scanner (look out www.harborscrapbooking.com I need more copies).
