Check out what Lain Ehmann had to say about my book in Episode #42 or her podcasts.
Not sure what a podcast is...it's just an audio recording downloadable from the internet. It's easy to do and it sure beats ordering those old fashion cassette tapes and cd's. Please take a listen to Lain's comments, it's the last topic in her episode.
Here are a few highlights that I thought were interesting:
- She's right-on when she notes that it's not a "how to idea book" in the sense of scraplifting a design, but to focus on the STORY behind the layout either in the cultural significance or journaling.
- She appreciates the spiral binding, full color and layout on every page.
- She noticed it's primaryily African-American faces...but I'd like to point out that over 40 cultures are discussed and represented.
- She comments that it's not the "hippest most cutting edge design" and I'm okay with that...being the mother of five I've still managed to complete well over 70 albums that line the shelves in my home and that of family and friends, by just jumping in, using what I have and getting it done.
