I had a fabulous time hosting an intimate crop in my studio this past weekend. The croppers, many of them new to me, learned a bunch of techniques and made a bunch of new friends.
Adriana and I had a very eye-opening discussion on her native land, Colombia. As I looked through her photo album of 1970 photos and shared tips with her on how to scrapbook them,it was very hard for me to tell that they were not taken in this country. The clothing, events, wallpaper, cars and etc. were similar to things I'd see in my childhood hometowns in Pennsylvania and Ohio.
She shared with me how weird she thought Americans were to get off the airplanes in Colombia dressed like they were going on an African safari. As a child she felt offended that they thought they were coming to some uncivilized society.
I've recruited Adriana to be my bi-lingual ambassador to help me promote my book at local events.
Sandy came and got her crop on, slipped disk and all...what a trooper...I mean cropper! Can you guess her scrapping style? It's similar to her top, girly with sequins and glitter...no lie!
