I have had the pleasure to read the latest collection presented by Whitman Publishing LLC. This two volume collection is a must have for every American home. Although I teach scrapbooking and have focused workshops and written articles on scrapbooking the Obama Family, I highly recommend this extremely affordable book. One book walks you through Barack Obama's journey from Hyde Park in Chicago on election night through inauguration day. The journey is beautifully depicted with highly publicized photographs and facts coupled with copies of memorabilia, just like a scrapbook. The second book highlights Michelle Obama and many former First Ladies.
This two book set is a great keepsake book for you and your family to enjoy now and for many generations to come. The size of the book is perfect for children to handle on their own and the quality of the pages are sturdy enough to withstand constant turning. The memorabilia pockets are chock full of newpaper clippings, invitations, postcards and etc. are a scrapbooker's dream. I highly recommend that you write in your own handwriting some of your feelings about the 2008 election of the first African-American President and slip them into a pocket as well.
From November 2008 through January 20, 2009, I saw many images on the news about the Obama's and I painfully wished I had those very photographs for myself, now I do with this very affordable collection (under $40 for two book box set). Buy one for yourself and one as a gift.
I won't abandon my own Obama Scrapbook Album, but this recent addition to my coffee table sure puts my project on the back burner. Mainly, because my whole reason for creating my own scrapbook was to savor these precious moments in history and be able to say and show that I was there. This collection does it for me, pretty much the way I would do it myself. Thank You, Whitman Publishing, you did a fabulous job!
